Dr. Simon N. Ferber is a licensed clinical psychologist in California with expertise in psychological assessment and treatment. As a Qualified Medical Evaluator (QME) with the California Division of Workers' Compensation Medical Unit and a POST-eligible Peace Officer Evaluator, his specialization includes trauma and stress management, first responder issues, and workers' compensation.
With a Doctor of Psychology in Clinical Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology at Alliant International University and a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology from California State University Northridge, Dr. Ferber has furthered his education with specialized training in neuropsychological assessment from UC Berkeley Extension, police and public safety psychology from Palo Alto University, and EMDR through the EMDR International Association.
Dr. Ferber has provided treatment to survivors of critical incidents, workplace violence, mass casualty events, and other high-impact traumatic experiences. He has conducted resilience-based outreach through site visits to military bases and crisis scenes. Through this work, he has gained experience with classical and innovative trauma-focused treatments, including biofeedback techniques and resilience protocols. He has gained experience with treatment protocols for individuals in the acute phase of trauma, including those used for soldiers actively deployed in the field. His firsthand experiences in conflict-affected communities have further deepened his understanding of psychological resilience and the enduring strength of the human spirit.
